Maggie got to the house and bounded through the front door, laughing through her panting breaths from the run. She made it through the door and kicked it shut behind her, knowing she was forcing him to shift back human.

If her guess was right, form wouldn't matter. He'd still have his animal senses even in human form, so she dropped his shirt to the foot of the stairs and raced up to the top and hid in one of the spare rooms. Though it felt impossible, she tried to steady her breathing and heartrate while she waited.
