I push the door open, hands shifting first as I sneak inside. By the time I close the door I'm human again, but it always takes a bit for those more powerful animal urges to subside.

Hunt. Find. Mate.

I smell her. More difficult at first, the entire house smells like her, but not like her in heat, like when she smells like me. Crouching low I creep up the stairs. At the top, I take a deep breath. I know which room is hers, but she's not in the room. She's in another room.

I push the door open and wait. I can see fine in the dark. I can hear the pounding of her heart and can smell her.

In heat! Mate!

I move into the room in a blur, grabbing her and tossing her lightly on the bed as I pin her wrists above her and grin.
