I sighed and leaned back on the couch in the living room near the fireplace. I pressed the cold beer to my forehead in an attempt to relieve the swelling and the pain there.

The girl, I realized I still didn't know her name, had to be a little crazy to do the stuff she was doing. Apparently older me could have stood to be a little more... something with her, I don't know what. Because I'm a terrible choice to mentor someone, which this situation clearly indicated.
