Levi was tired of blundering around in the dark. There had been nothing to indicate that the killer had or used a gun, so he clicked on his flashlight. It would give his position away, but even hearing the whoever it was open a door to escape would be something.
Raising his arm up, he clicked on the flashlight. Turning in a slow circle, he checked for any murder like silhouettes. There were never any decent silhouettes around when your life might depend on them.
He had just about made a full turn when something slammed into him, hard, and sent him flying to the floor. Okay, so he had definitely found the killer, or something.
"Freeze, police!" he shouted, because seriously what the fuck else was he going to do?
The killer's answer was to laugh at him and pick him up and throw him through a half-finished wall. Fortunately, that give him enough time to turn and fire his weapon at whatever it was.
